1976年、大学2年の時に名古屋テレビ放送による、第14回海外派遣学生試験に合格し、米国ユタ大学に派遣されました。1776年の独立から建国200年の米国を見て「どうして米国がこんな短期間にかかる成功を収めることができたのか？」という疑問でした。
帰国時の私なりの答えは以下の3点でした、

1. （1）米国が多民族を受け入れあらゆる人に成功の機会を与え、その成果を成功者が享受できる国であること、
2. （2）「自由」の名のもとに米国民が強い組織力と個性・高い専門性を持つ国であること、
3. （3）「競争」に勝つことを念頭にし、更なる発展を遂げ続けることに拘る国であるいう印象を強く受けました。

中国・インドなどのアジア諸国の経済発展が著しい現在でもその思いは変わりありません。なぜなら、今後とも米国が世界の英知を集めて、未知の世界を切り開いてゆける力強さと柔軟性を合わせ持った国であると感じているからです。日本が今後とも米国の影響を受けながら成長し、強い日米関係がさらにアジア各国に強い影響を及ぼすと確信しております。その様な観点から、米国税務を通じて微力ではありますが、努力を惜しまない覚悟であります。サラリーマン時代の経験を生かし、日本及び米国市民の皆さんへ奉仕の精神で貢献致したいと考えております。

In 1976 I participated in an exchange student program of NBN(Nagoya Broadcasting Network) with the University of Utah. My stay raised serious some questions in my mind. `Why has the USA accomplished such an exclusive success for only 200 years?
I could find some answers when I came back to JAPAN. These answers are that

1. (1) The USA is continuing to give various kinds of chances to all the people over the world , who can enjoy success as winners.
2. (2) US Citizens have a powerful capacity for organization, also high speciality and individuality.
3. (3) I am sure that the USA will continue to make progress in the field of international accounting and taxation.

US citizens are responsible for filing various kinds of tax returns and liability for tax payment in accordance with tax law , even though you are living in a foreign country. You are responsible for filing Form 1040 if you are an individual. And when you have established a corporation in JAPAN, you may be required to file not only a Japanese tax return ， but also a US tax return according to the type of business.
